“Multi-scale Matching for flows with a Grid” is an ANR-funded project granted to Francesco Romanò as ANR-JCJC in 2021. The project started in March 2022 and will end in February 2026.

MultiMatchGrid will develop a novel approach based on first principles, numerical simulations, and artificial intelligence. The long-term goal is to improve the robustness and security of grid-based flow control. Potential applications include control of turbulent pipe flows, mixing enhancers for heat exchangers, and inflow control in turbomachinery.
